As in years past, DOCS Education will be spearheading Sedation Safety Week this March. While sedation dentistry is at the forefront of providing care for the patients that need it most, many are still uncertain about the benefits and misinformed about the sedation dentistry process. For one week each year, DOCS Education highlights safety and implementation while encouraging doctors to brush-up on their skills and check their equipment.
Over 90 million Americans suffer from some form of dental fear. To help dentists continue safely and successfully treating these patients, Sedation Safety Week reviews key steps that all sedation dentists and their team must implement with every sedation case. Each day of the week, DOCS Education will highlight different areas of safety from the operatory to regulations.
Every year during Sedation Safety Week, DOCS Education announces the Sedation Dentist of the Year. This doctor has demonstrated the knowledge and drive to become the top of their field, making sure their patients are cared for in the safest, most efficient way possible.

We want your nominations for the dentist you believe has gone above and beyond, furthering their knowledge and making sure every sedation case they treat is held to the highest standard. Last year’s winner was Dr. Robert Maddux, a sedation and cosmetic dentist in Hernando, MS.
