"“Sedation dentistry via the DOCS organization has been the best and most rewarding thing I have ever done in my career when it comes to patient care and patient satisfaction! Over the past year and a half I have treated 300 sedation patients. It started out that we set aside only Thursdays and Fridays. This quickly grew to a minimum of one per day and most of the time now two per day. We have two monitors and now can have more than one going at one time, including hygiene. My hygienist loves it! Some of these cases are 4 to 7 hours long while others are only 2 hours in length. Needless to say providing this treatment option to so many people in need really makes you and your team feel good. You should see some of the truly grateful testimonials and gifts that my sedation patients have brought us! It is very emotional and joyous to see the excitement on these patients faces when they actually begin and finish their long awaited dental treatment! I would encourage everyone to fond out how you too can enjoy dentistry more than ever before and pride yourself in helping an entire sector of needy patients that have given up hope of ever having a healthy smile. These patients have instead settled with daily pain and suffering both physically and mentally because they are terrified of the status-quo traditional dental office! I invite any of you to contact the DOCS organization and experience an entirely new level of dentistry that will bring a new and heightened excitement to you and your dental team that will reap greater rewards than you can imagine!” "

"Dear Dr. Silverman,
I was in Dr. John Kois’ office this morning and DOCS name came up as they pulled out the anti-wiggle cushion for the patient chair. I wanted you to know that both of us agreed that your courses and organization are held in high regard. I am proud to me a member.
Thank you for all you do for dentistry and the dental patient.
Respectfully,

"“I’ll take this opportunity to chime in and commend DOCS on putting together a great course. It has been over 2 years since I took my last course. Since that time they have developed and refined the protocols for Anxiolysis, single dose sedation, and incremental dose sedation. Having done over 400 cases I was pleasantly surprised to find some protocols that I was not using and they worked even better than some of the ones I was using. I am most impressed by the fact that these protocols require smaller doses with the same net effect. The other good aspect to the course was the safety review. It was a good review and helped prepare me for my office inspection.” "

"“I concur with all the praise being put forward for the DOCS meeting in Denver. This was my first experience with DOCS and it was above and beyond what I expected. The entire group from DOCS was there to answer questions and offer their help in any way possible. The professionalism and yet fun everyone exhibited was outstanding. I look forward to continuing the learning with them.” "

In 14 years of pursuing excellence in dentistry this is the first time I have felt compelled to contact the doctor personally to let him know how much I valued his time and effort. I am hoping for the best with regard to the attempts by DOCS to assist New York State in clarifying its regulations regarding oral sedation. Thank You” "

"“Thanks for all you are doing for dentistry and for a great learning experience, the entire presentation was outstanding. The information you presented was all I had hoped for and more. After 30 years in dentistry, it is very difficult for me to attend a post-grad course and get more than one or two salient pointers and your presentation was loaded. I came away knowing that my time and my effort to attend was well worth it. I have spent one entire day digesting the information and laying out a battle plan to implement this material into my practice as soon as possible. This was truly a dynamite weekend. Thanks again for all you are doing to improve the lives of so many.” "

"“Just a short note to thank you for bringing oral conscious sedation to our practice!
You came to mind recently, as it has been about one year since I first attended a DOCS seminar. I am happy to report that this has been the most exciting and fulfilling addition to our office in recent years!
Your well-organized approach allows us to deliver dentistry to the most fearful patient is such a safe environment. They absolutely, unconditionally, love it! To date, we have not had even one unhappy or regretful of their decision to use oral conscious sedation. In almost all cases, it simply has exceeded their expectations! Anyone working with the fearful (and who isn’t) or doing long appointments will find a new breathe of life in their practice, as I have mine. Thanks again, for a job well done!”

"“We did our first case on Friday. Everything went smooth, although I personally was a bit uptight, of course. Was it going to go like we’d been taught? Indeed everything went as you said it would, a tribute to your good teaching!
What we’d also been taught, but what I didn’t expect was what happened when I called that night to check on our patient. She said, “It was wonderful! I don’t remember a thing! It was the best appointment I’ve ever had!” We had changed her whole perception of dental care. There was hope in her voice. There was joy. I don’t think I’ve ever treated a more appreciative patient. Thank you DOCS for your support.”"

"“You have changed my practice. On Monday I scheduled 2 sedation appointments both $4,500. On Wednesday I scheduled 2 more cases both $6,000. I just graduated last summer, so for me these are big cases. The beauty of this is I didn’t schedule the consultations based on attending the seminar. These cases just asked me during an appointment if I could “knock them out”, and because of you I could say “yes”. Now I just have to wait for the equipment and I’m good to go. I’m very confident to offer these services because I feel you were extremely thorough in your presentation. BTW, Just set up another case yesterday for $7,600. He is paid in full. So next Wednesday I’m seeing 2 patients and producing $12,000 that is already paid in full. Just set up another case this morning for next Thursday morning. Irony is that I catch a plane at 1:00 that same day I go to the DOCS course. I just wanted you to know that you have changed my life.” "

"“I just wanted to let everyone know, I purchased the start up kit and returned to my practice feeling like I was willing to begin trying this safe technique. I tested the technique on spouse and staff first, then began on interested patients. It wasn’t long before I could see the merits of oral conscious sedation for my patients and for my way of doing dentistry. I am a new guy for sure- I have done about 20 cases. The technique has met with 100% satisfaction from my patients. That’s something I cannot say about anything else I have ever done. I am doing the kind of work I knew I excelled at but seemingly couldn’t get acceptance on. I took the DOCS course. I am glad I did, and I am glad I took all 7 of my staff.” "

"I want to take the time to write a quick note to tell you how much I enjoyed your course on sedation dentistry. Your course was not only thorough and extrememly informative, but also well presented and a lot of fun. You were so complete in answering all my questions that I feel confident that you have given me the information needed to safely incorporate sedation dentistry into my practice.
Sedation dentistry is an important service to offer our patients and definitely will help any dentist looking to grow their practice. I am certain there is a wealth of new patients who are currently not being served by conventional dentistry.
You are one of the best presenters I have heard and I attend a lot of CE. I have no reservations recommending this course to any dentist interested in adding this service to the benefits they offer their patients. "

"“I want to tell you that things just keep getting better and better! I can say this some confidence as I was at the very first seminar and I have taken others since then…the entire DOCS team outdid themselves. I primarily went to introduce some newer team members to sedation, but I learned a ton of new “nuances” to make sedation even better. So if you haven’t been for a while or are contemplating taking a course to start sedation, I highly recommend you go. It was well worth the time and money.” "

"This past weekend (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) I attended the DOCS sedation dentistry course in Nashville.
First, the course was impressive. We started at 7:30 and went to 5:30 for three days with the instructors being VERY prompt to keep us on task. It was not the typical course that you are told its 8-5 and you get out at 3 pm. On Thursday we didn’t finish until nearly 6pm. Second, even if you don’t want to do sedation it was an extraordinary course on assessing the physical status of patients and identifying at-risk patients for care. It had a very good review of local anesthetics; it had a section on management of medical emergencies that was excellent. Finally, the actual sedation techniques taught we
re very sound. I was very pleased the AGD had their name attached to this course.
Jim Bratten, Ron Bell, Nina Foley, Steve Thaxton, Debbie Wallace and I were there to attend the course – and I’m sure I missed many that were there. Richard Dycus came over on Friday and was introduced as TN AGD President. The leaders of DOCS organization gave the AGD several excellent plugs. Not just ‘here’s the AGD’ but an enormous push for membership and acknowledgement for the advocacy we are doing with the ADA on the sedation guidelines that are being considered at the ADA House of Delegates in a few weeks/months. Ron recruited about a dozen members. Many of these were from surrounding states – Alabama, Texas and Arkansas. He represented us well and had the AGD booth set up the entire time between the two entrance/exit doors. This was a great time to be an AGD member. The speakers asked for a show of hands of all AGD members – probably 50 hands of the 350 people there went up.
This was great publicity for the AGD and a great co-sponsorship. Steve Thaxton – thank you for pushing this forward when it was first mentioned.

"We've done over half a dozen cases now and they've all gone amazingly. The feedback from all the patients has been great. Ron has taken the second course to do multiple dosing which has made things a lot easier. I think its made all the difference that Ron brought us to the course in Seattle because we never would have been able to implement this without the knowledge we gained. Patients have all been very receptive to the systems we now have in place (paying up front, consultation appointments and scheduling according to our book). Lastly, because of this we're also able to do bigger and longer cases. I just want to thank you again for all of your support and encouragement."

"Just wanted to let you know I booked my first sedation case this morning after taking the class in Dallas. I'm very excited and can't wait to get started! I had a very nervous patient that was scheduled for endo, a build-up and crown this morning and was just going to use nitrous and "tolerate" the procedure. I offered her sedation and she not only rescheduled to do it under sedation, but also scheduled to do the rest of her treatment while "under"! She scheduled for a few weeks down the road, so she could make arrangements at work and for a companion, but the dollars scheduled more than doubled! And she will be happy! I can't believe how easy this is to implement. I looked ahead in my schedule and there are at least 3 other patients that are high fear booked this month. I'm going to call and offer sedation to them. They are ASA 1 or 2 and needs multiple restorations. I believe this will change the way I practice forever. I had no idea...
Thank you for providing such a great service to everyone that took the course. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and felt it was well worth the money spent. I'm anxious to implement these new skills into my practice. I am so grateful!

"“I’m glad we have DOCS and am thankful to them for developing the protocol and teaching it to all of us, through the many trials and tribulations (attacks and ambushes??) that you’ve experienced. I feel that I am at the edge of a revolution equivalent to the introduction of Novocain last century. Many dentists didn’t want to use that when it first came out, either. In time, the dinosaurs will either evolve or die out. My patients are very thankful for the availability of sedation dentistry and I am happy to be able to provide it for them. Everyone deserves to have a great dental experience in the creation of a healthy mouth.” "

"“In making my post-op call for a sedation case I had completed the day before, my patient reported she wishes that she would have discovered me 10 years ago! After 40 plus sedation cases, this is the typical comment rather than an exception. Our patients, that have received sleep sedation dentistry, love us and better yet they refer their family, friends, and co-workers. Another benefit of sedation cases is that, typically, they are longer and more productive treatment. I would highly recommend sedation dentistry.”"

DOCS has proven time and time again to be one of the most efficient and well run organizations to be involved with.
