Congratulations to April Burus for her recent nomination for Most Effective Dental Assistant Educator! We're happy to report that she is a finalist to receive a Dr. Bicuspid Dental Excellence Award in her category. While we here at DOCS Education may (admittedly) be a little biased when one of our faculty receives recognition, we know she is an incredibly deserving candidate, and we wish her luck.
Experience and enthusiasm
April has been teaching with DOCS Education for three years. She brings a wealth of professional experience to her team training sessions, whether she's teaching at our seminars or onsite in dental offices. With more than 15 years in the dental industry, she has a solid basis for instructing others. More than her experience, however, it's her passion for helping patients that fuels her desire to teach. The benefits of sedation dentistry have inspired April to share her knowledge with other dental professionals. Sedation dentistry not only enables fearful dental patients to be healthy, but it often provides a needed boost to their self-esteem as well. April loves watching patient transformations, especially for those whose embarrassment about their teeth made them afraid to smile. "It's like watching a flower bloom," she says. While every patient is different, she has seen sedation patients experience a complete turnaround. Watching patients unlock their potential and let their true personalities shine through never gets old. On top of her obvious passion for her subject and her professional experience, April is an outstanding lecturer. So it's no surprise to us that her good work has been noticed.
