These days more children than ever are glued to devices: whether tablets or smartphones, there’s no denying that the quickest way into the brains of little kids is via screen time.

Whether you’re enthralled with technology or think more kids should be running wild on the playground, we can all agree oral health is paramount.

Which is why the Partnership for Healthy Mouths, Healthy Lives has teamed up with the Ad Council to create an app that inspires kids to brush their teeth for two minutes, twice daily.

“Toothsavers,” created for the Kids’ Healthy Mouths campaign, enlists kids to rescue friendly fairy tale characters from a malevolent sorceress who – you guessed it – casts an evil teeth-rotting spell on the kingdom.

"Toothsavers is a terrific way to get kids thinking about their teeth from an early age," Gary Price, secretary and chief executive officer of the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation, said in a statement.

What’s more, the app helps children keep track of their brushing progress: complete with a toothbrushing companion and morning and nighttime brushing reminders, “Toothsavers” gives kids new incentive to brush.

Move over, Candy Crush.
