Autumn is upon us and, fittingly, so is the Fall edition of the DOCS Digest. In the past our themes have included the Patient Issue, the Team Issue and the Pediatric Issue. This time, however, we decided to tackle a topic slightly more controversial, but equally relevant in the ever-changing field of dentistry: the steadily evening ratio of men to women in dentistry.

In our Fall issue, we sit down with two clinicians, Dr. Keerti Sahasrabudhe and Dr. Kimberly Meyer, and speak with them about their respective experiences in dentistry, both considering and looking outside of the context of their gender.

Other topics include a historical article focusing on women practicing dentistry in the 19th century, an editorial piece examining the sociological and cultural impacts of the gender shift in dentistry, and finally, case studies and questions discussing some of the more challenging and dynamic cases our members have come across recently.

Take advantage of the easily-accessible digital version of the Fall 2014 DOCS Digest here or flip through the hard copy we've delivered to your doorstep. Either way, we hope you enjoy.
