We recently had the opportunity to reach out to Dr. Robert Doyle, a DOCS Education member and Diplomate, and ask him how DOCS Education and sedation dentistry have benefited both his practice and patients. DOCS Education: How has the training you’ve received from DOCS Education prepared you and your team to offer sedation dentistry? Dr. Robert Doyle: I have a confidence in sedating my patients that I did not have prior to the training I received at DOCS Education. I have been trained in ACLS and PALS through DOCS Education. Before taking the classes I felt intimidated and afraid of taking the course at a local hospital. I appreciate that all the courses are tailored to my needs and knowledge as a dentist. As a result of the courses I now have advanced training that I would have been very reluctant to have taken. DOCS Education has allowed me to help out hundreds of patients in my community that probably would have never received needed care. DE: How has sedation dentistry served your patients? RD: Sedation dentistry has allowed people in my community to receive the care they have wanted and needed for years. Most of these patients knew they needed treatment but were too afraid to even call a dental office. Many of the patients I treat were forced to be seen due to pain, infection or hospitalization. I feel great in being able to confidently explain that sedation dentistry can help them in a way they have never experienced. DE: How has sedation dentistry enhanced your practice? RD: Sedation dentistry has allowed me to serve a large group of patients that have not been served my community. It allows patients to become healthy and beautiful and allows me to have a thriving business. DE: What did you find most helpful/interesting from the training you received from DOCS Education faculty? RD: I have attended a lot of CE over the years. At many of the lectures I find the speaker is there to let me know how great he/she is and is not as interested in helping me in my practice. I appreciate that DOCS Education's faculty are very knowledgeable but present the program to my level of understanding as a general dentist. They have shown that their techniques have been successfully used millions of times and I can use DOCS Education systems in my office immediately after training.
