DOCS Education makes a point to pull back the proverbial curtain and address all sides of dentistry: the triumphs, the complexities and perhaps most important—the challenges.

The summer issue of DOCS Digest is devoted to the challenging sedation cases and the learning experiences that come with them. Beginning with a letter from Dr. Feck, the summer issue discusses first how we as sedation dentists can study the experiences of our colleagues via the EliteDOCS forum or even through simple networking. The important part? Keep the lines of communication open and never stop learning.

This issue also provides several unusually complex sedation case studies by Drs. Ghaboussi and Parbhoo. One focuses upon the successful restoration of a 38-year-old woman with anxiety, severe wear, fracturing and even broken lower teeth. The other highlights Dr. Parbhoo’s treatment of a young man with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

DOCS Digest also delves deep into alternate interpretations of what “difficulty” can truly mean. Workplace disputes can have an impact on both the staff and patients. Our “In-Office Conflict Mediation” article takes a behind-the-scenes peek into taking the drama out of your practice. (Assuming, of course, you have any.)

Lastly, DOCS Digest sits down to chat with two leaders in sedation dentistry: faculty member Dr. Jerome Wellbrock discusses his most challenging cases in the Q & A, while Dr. Kaveh Ghaboussi provides an inside look into his Madison, Wisconsin comprehensive dentistry practice.

Be sure to check your mailbox on August 11th for this most recent issue of DOCS Digest or—if you can’t wait click below to check out the digital DOCS Digest summer issue.

Enjoy.
