As a dentist, you know three minutes is the recommended amount of brushing time. But what if you could brush just as effectively in…six seconds?

That’s precisely what the inventors of Blizzident claim. A new, 3D printed toothbrush, Blizzident looks more like a mouthpiece or biteguard than your typical chomper-washer. It is created from a custom 3D impression of the customers’ teeth. This means a Blizzident can’t be bought at the drugstore, but instead has to be made for each individual’s teeth. So, what does this mean for dentists? Well, depending on the impact Blizzident has on the market, you may be seeing more patients come in simply for 3D impressions.

Once the impression is complete, it can be scanned into a 3D file and sent off to Blizzident, where a unique toothbrush will be created and mailed to the customer.

Blizzident uses very soft bristles that cover practically every surface of the teeth, so instead of actually moving the brush itself, the individual must bite and chew for six seconds to get a deep clean around every tooth in their mouth.
