In the wake of the deadly tornadoes ravaging the Southern states, the Alabama Dental Association is reaching out to dentists in Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Huntsville to assess damages to dental practices, the dentists and their staff. Thus far over 230 people have been killed in the South over the last two days due to these storms and tornadoes. The ALDA so far has contacted approximately 20 dentists; however, Tuscaloosa and Birmingham have no power and the phone lines in Huntsville are down making an accurate assessment very difficult. The majority of the dentists contacted said their practices were damaged with some practices sustaining major damage. The ALDA will continue to try and contact more dentists to gain a better assessment of the damage to the various communities. The ALDA also encourages any dentists who have been affected by the storms to contact the ALDA either by phone or on the web. Contact information: Phone: (334) 265-1684 Website: www.ALDAonline.org
